This week's question comes from a community thread about ordering from us. A buyer in the United States received an email saying their order had shipped, went looking for a tracking number, found none, and wondered whether something had gone wrong. Others in the thread described the same gap. The short answer is that nothing is missing. For orders going to the United States, the tracking number is not created until later in the journey, and it arrives in a second email.
The question
Paraphrased from the thread: I placed an order, got an email saying it had shipped, but there is no tracking number in it. Is that normal, or do I need to chase it?
It is a fair question, and the fact that it came up more than once tells us the first email does not explain itself well enough. That is on us, and it is why we are answering it here as plainly as we can.
The answer: two emails, not one
Orders shipped to the United States generate two shipping emails.
The first email goes out when the order leaves Korea. At that point the parcel is on its way, but it does not yet have the domestic tracking number that a US carrier will use for the final leg.
The second email goes out once the shipment has cleared customs in the United States and the tracking number for delivery has been generated. That is the email with the number you can follow.
Between the two, there is no tracking number to give, because it does not exist yet. The first email is not missing a field. It is simply the first of two.
What the first email is good for
The first email is worth keeping even though it has no tracking number in it. It confirms that the order has been packed and has left Korea, which is the step most buyers are actually waiting to hear about when they first order. It also carries your order number, which is the reference we use if you ever need to ask about the shipment. If you are placing orders for a clinic, forwarding the first email to whoever receives deliveries means they know a parcel is on its way before the tracking number exists.
How long the gap usually is
Our standard guidance is that the tracking number is shared after customs clearance is complete, typically around three to four days. That is a typical figure rather than a promise, and at busier times, including the current period, it can run longer. If you are planning around a delivery date, it is worth allowing for that.
The way the gap behaves is predictable once you know the two-step structure. Shortly after a batch of orders leaves Korea, most of those orders will not yet show a tracking number. A week or so later, most of them will. At any single moment, a recent order without a number is almost always an order that is between the first email and the second.
Why the number comes later
The tracking number in the second email is the one used for delivery within the United States, and it is generated once the shipment has cleared customs there. Before that point, there is no delivery number to send. That is the whole reason for the two-step pattern: the first email tells you the order has left, and the second gives you the number that follows it to your door.
Knowing this changes what a missing number means. Early in the journey, no number is the normal state. It only becomes a question once the typical window has passed.
When it is worth getting in touch
Most of the time, the right thing to do after the first email is to wait for the second. There are a few situations where it makes sense to contact us instead.
You did not receive the first email at all. If your order is confirmed but you have had no shipping email of any kind, check your spam or promotions folder first, then let us know. We can see whether the shipping notification was sent.
The gap is running well beyond the typical window. If it has been noticeably longer than three to four days since clearance would normally be expected and there is still no second email, ask. We can look at where the shipment is.
The second email arrived but the number shows nothing. If the tracking number still shows no activity after a day or two, tell us and we will check.
When you write, include your order number and the email address you ordered with. That is all we need to look it up.
What this answer does not cover
This answer describes the process for orders shipped to the United States. Orders to other countries may follow a different sequence, and we have not described them here. If you are outside the United States and unsure what to expect, ask us for your destination specifically.
It also does not cover questions about customs outcomes or delivery guarantees. Our delivery terms, including the duties-paid option on United States orders, are set out on the shipping options page, and that page is the place to read them.
Why we are answering questions here
This is the first of a regular slot on this blog: one real question, taken from something a buyer actually asked us or asked about us, answered as directly as we can. We will not invent questions, and we will not identify anyone who asked. If there is something you would like answered here, you can send it to our team the same way you would send any other question.
Frequently asked
Why is there no tracking number in my KSTATION shipping email?
For orders shipped to the United States, the first shipping email is sent when the order leaves Korea, before the domestic tracking number exists. The tracking number is generated after the shipment clears customs in the United States and is sent in a second email.
How long after the first email does the tracking number arrive?
Our standard guidance is that it is shared after customs clearance, typically around three to four days. That is a typical figure, not a guarantee, and it can run longer at busier times.
When should I contact KSTATION about tracking?
If you received no shipping email at all, if the gap runs well beyond the typical window, or if the tracking number in the second email still shows no activity after a day or two. Include your order number and the email address you ordered with.
Does the same process apply outside the United States?
This answer describes orders shipped to the United States. Other destinations may follow a different sequence, so ask our team about your destination specifically.
This answer describes how shipping notifications work for orders to the United States as of 18 September 2026. Timings are typical rather than guaranteed. It does not cover customs outcomes, and it is not a change to our delivery terms.
